Ironing board transformation.

Well as you can see my ironing board cover has had a lot of use and is well past it's best; so today was the day - it needed to be recovered (it was a job I've been putting off for a while!!)

1/2 hour later (very sore fingers as I sew the cover on)... Ta Da

Huge improvement.

Australian Scout Medallion

Our eldest DD received her ASM last night (very proud moment). We go to Adelaide next month to get the actual medallion; she received her badge and certificate last night. First recipient in our group ...

Her face says it all .......well done Emily x ♥ x ♥

Very late FNSI post..

Well we had a very busy weekend so my FNSI was done in small bits - "stars" finished finally and a new cross stitch started; Christmas themed - trees and a deer; now I'm not promising which Christmas just that it will be for one in the future ....

I also received these FQ's from Lyn - my September partner and some super cute bird buttons.

Baby baskets .........

We're having a baby boom at work with 2 expected in the next month and one arrived earlier this month. I've decided to make some baskets and "fill" them (haven't decided what with yet as they are 1st, 2nd and 3rd babies). A little boy has already arrived so this is what I created today (owl and bunting awaits the next 2). I also received a beautiful block from Siggi my Christmas Block Swap Partner.

Siggi also included a gift .........

Will show and tell more tomorrow.

Fruits of Friday Night With Friends

Very productive evening. My DS & BIL celebrate their silver wedding anniversary this month; what to get them was the problem (that doesn't cost a lot to post as they're in England). Well I came across a pattern for table mats in Handmade that I've adapted (one for him and one for her). Slight mess up today though when I washed them - the colour ran on his........ very disappointed - not sure what to do??

And just because they're not going to beat me: 3 more stars (only 21 to go) then I just need to decide what to do with them. I haven't cut them out with the pinking shears yet (they make such a mess that I'll wait until I have a few more).

Giveaway at Cross'N My Stitches

Had to share Miss Linda Lee at Cross'N My stitches is having a give away - get in quick it ends 26/9/13 - looks awesome. I've just started cross stitching again and the "fall" craft Linda has as her picture is my sort of craft as Linda says "feel the colour" - totally inspiring.

Beautiful friend

My beautiful friend Brony's mum died last month after a short illness and was nursed at home during her last few months by Bron. Her mum was an avid crazy patch quilter and (as all of us quilters do had a mountain of fabric and threads). Bron isn't a quilter/sewer and has given them all to me....... how wonderful. I spent a very happy afternoon with my mum looking through it all. It will all be put to use - I already have a few projects in mind.... Bron's mum was only 71 years young and was a wonderful, wonderful lady. The sunflowers are for Bron as these are her favourite flowers ♥ ♥ ♥

Hope she likes it???

What a challenge............

This block has been extremely challenging....... lots of unpicking but finally done and I'm very pleased with the result. It's off to sunny Sweden tomorrow for Carin - my September partner for the Quilting Block Swap Austalia. Hope it suits - Carin asked for a depression block in aqua'a, teals and turquoise.

Planning something a lot simpler for my Christmas Quiling Block Swap Australia partner Siggi..
